Nine Inch Nails: Y34RZ3R3M1X3D (Year Zero Remixed)

Look, if you read this blog with any sort of consistency, you'd know that Shawn and I basically worship the ground Trent walks on. We're Nail-heads. We're in our 30's. NIN was the soundtrack of our young adult lives. NIN is just getting better and better. That's my opionion and I'm sticking to it. We're not even talking about the free downloads, Garageband files, interactive games and general connectivity to the fans here...

So instead of going on and on about how wonderful this official remix album is and type up a quasi-intellectual analysis on its virtues, just listen to the Mp3s and come to your own conclusion, 'kay? Cause really, I'm fucking tired this time of year (if I get another ABEND call from work, I'm going to shoot someone) and I'd rather just spend some quiet time listening to this album than trying to connect with the virtual world right now.

Listen to:
"My Violent Heart" (Pirate Robot Midget)
"Great Destroyer" (Mod Wheel Mood Remix)
"Another Version of the Truth" (Kronos Quartet and Enrique Gonzalez Muller)

Visit:
Nine Inch Nails Official Website
Remix Nin (cool remix site with downloadable toolset to mangle/enhance tracks by Nine Inch Nails)
Buy Year Zero Remixed at Amazon

On a slightly different note, enjoy:

These remixes are brilliant! Do you have the one with the garageband files for all the Year Zero songs? That's the one I want to get, as soon as I save up enough money. :)

I couldn't find the "toolset" on the remix website you mentioned.

The Meathead video cracks me up! Meathead is a comic genius.

I heard Year Zero once, so my memory may not be that clear. But I think I like these remixes are as good, maybe better than the originals. Usually I hate remixes. These are superb.

I've always wanted to play record producer. I hope more bands will follow this example, making files available for everyone else to mix, match, and add to.

I agree TVK. making files available to fans has really increased NIN's appeal.
I also think the remixes are better than the album, although admittedly, I tend to like remix albums. The remix album that came after the "Fragile" is pretty darn good too. I think it's called "Things Falling Apart"

Hi! I have an electronic music project called Vate, I've just released my latest album Volt, a mixture of electro, IDM and some experimental sounds.

You can listen and download it here: http://www.vate.com.mx/Sections-article16-p1.htm

Hope it is useful for your blog!

Thanks!

I wonder who will be the first person on the web to release a decent nine inch nails and Jay - Z mashup album

with the NIN garageband tracks and Jay Z accapella's.

Jay Z has accapella versions of his "Black album" and "American Gangster albums and there's allready heaps of mash ups on the web of Jay Z material

anyway, both of u 2 are right the remixes out there at NIN's remix site are so cool - definatley worth downloading a few fan mixes
